This week the MHS tennis team kicked off the season by traveling to Dublin for a non-region match up and to Swainsboro on 2/6 to begin region play.
On Monday Dublin proved to be a tough opponent as only Lexi Hadden and Allison Chassereau would defeat their opponents in a doubles match.
Matthew Coogler battled an extremely talented opponent in a singles match for over 2 hours before unfortunately falling short in a third set to his opponent.
On the girls tennis team was 5-4 overall verses Swainsboro. Willow Stuckey was victorious in her singles match. Halley Callway fell short in a very hard fought singles battle that took over 2 hours to complete. Lexi Hadden and Mary Ruth Berry were victorious in their region doubles competition. Allison Chassereau and Savannah Holland defeated their opponents in a doubles match. Layni Lanier and Abigail Zerwig also found victory in a doubles match. Hannah Campbell was victorious in a singles match.
Mary Emma Gainous, Kayley Vaughn, and Kaitlyn Coogler battled tough opponents in their respective matches. Unfortunately, these ladies fell short playing a tie-breaker and battling back and fourth with their opponents.
Today we will travel to Savannah to face St Vincent Academy and Benedictine
