Yesterday, the boys tennis team traveled to Vidalia to face the Indians in a first round matchup of the region 2AA tournament. In the most intense boys competition of the year, although we did fall short 2-3, each athlete left absolutely everything on the court. Freshman doubles partners David Durden and Andre Snyder pounced on their opponets early and nearly shut them out. Sophomore Thomas Rigdon battled over 2 hours through an injury to defeat his opponent in a 3rd set.
Although the outcome wasn’t what was hoped for, Coach Tony Smith and I are proud of the growth seen in these young men this season. We have seen an increase in maturity and confidence in these athletes. They have all also taken care of their work, as well as avoided any discipline issues in the classroom.
