Boys Varsity Golf · Tigers Finish Second at Oak Mountain

The Tiger Golf team traveled to Carrollton,Ga to compete in the 15th Annual Lions Invitational at Oak Mountain Championship golf course over the Spring break.  Oak Mountain is where the AA State tournament will be held this year.  Playing in the Lions tournament would give the Tigers a chance to get some experience on this particular course.

Our Tigers would finish in 2nd place for the tournament with a score of 324.  Cartersville would take home the championship with a score of 307.  Ian Glanton shot a 74 to finish in 2nd place against a field of 95 golfers.  Other Tiger scores included Grayson Bowen 83, Jackson Longgrear 83, Will Altman 84, and Cade Curl 93.  Freshman, Lawson Salter , shot an 80 and participated as an individual for the tournament.
Overall the Tigers played well and the experience from this past weekend will help as we compete in the State tournament near the end of this season.
The Tigers will travel to Columbus on Thursday to compete in the Hardaway Invitational.  The Hardaway Invitational will be a two day tournament.  This will be the first two day tournament the Tigers have competed in this season.  The State tournament is a two day event so this will be a valuable experience that will help prepare the team for post season play.
