MHS Wrestling Competes at Area Meet

MHS Wreslers competed in Artea Wrestling tournament last Saturday Feb 2nd.  John Simmons qualifies for Sectionals at 195 with a 4th place finish. Josh Kelly qualifies for sectionals at 170 with a 2nd place finish. Both guys will compete on February 8th and 9th in Toombs County for a chance to move on to state.

MHS Wrestlers post Victory over PCA

Metter High School and Metter Middle School Wrestlers posted victories Tuesday in a dual meet at Pinewood Christian.  This was both teams first meet.  MHS wrestling will be in Jeff Davis Friday for the “Yellow Jacket Duals”.   Good Luck and GO TIGERS!!!

MHS Winter Sports Banquet

The Winter Sports Banquet took place Monday night where Boys and Girls Cross Country, Boys and Girls Basketball, Wrestling, and Basketball Cheer were all recognized for their success this season. Winter Sports Banquet – Monday 3/12

Winter Sports Banquet will be held Monday 3/12 @ 6PM.  We will be honoring Cross country, Wrestling, Basketball Cheer, Girls Basketball, and Boys Basketball.  All students and parents are invited to attend.  GO TIGERS!!!

Pittman Qualifies for State Wrestling Meet

James Pittman placed fifth in sectionals this past Saturday in Toombs Co. This means he qualified for the state tournament in Atlanta as an alternate. He is the first Metter wrestler to qualify for state since George Rhodes did in the 2013-2014 season. He went 2-2 this weekend with two pins. Congratulations and GO TIGERS!!

MHS Advances at Area Wrestling Tournament

The Metter High School wrestling team competed in the area tournament over the weekend. Three wrestlers were named to the All Area Academic Team for maintaining above a 90 grade point average. These wrestlers were Toby Tobin, Tyler Kirkland, and James Pittman. Deandre Phillips, John Simmons, and James Pittman all had wins in the area

MHS Wrestling at Sweet Onion Tourney

The Metter High School wrestling team competed at the Sweet Onion Wrestling Tournament this weekend. There were 33 teams from across the state competing in this tournament. Five wrestlers qualified to wrestle on Saturday for a chance at a medal. Those wrestlers were James Pittman, Tyler Walker, John Simmons, Deandre Phillips, and Toby Tobin. The top performer

MHS Wrestling competes at Area Duals

Metter High School wrestling competed against Screven, Swainsboro, and Vidalia on January the 5th in a team area qualifying tournament. Metter defeated Screven 42-24. Tyler Kirkland, John Simmons, and Tyler Walker each finished 2-1. The top performer at the tournament was Toby Tobin going 3-0 with one pin.
